So what ever happened to the Holmberg solution?
What's going to happen to our beach?

READ: The ANNOUNCEMENTS Page!

Even during good periods of relatively calm waves, when sand on Flagler's Beach builds up enough so that some of it remains dry even at high tide, you can see the effects of continuing erosion.

Those little cliffs (escarpments) that start appearing are telltale signs that the beach is too steep and the wave energy too high for the system to efficiently use the sand in the water to maintain a good beach.

And when the big waves come, our vulnerable beaches don't stand a chance.
That's when the Florida Department of Transportation starts talking about armoring shorelines with seawalls,
and the Army Corps of Engineers gets its dredging projects into high gear.

This website shows how and why erosion now plagues not just Flagler's beach, but beaches up and down the Eastern seaboard, all around the Gulf coast, and everywhere along the Pacific shoreline--as well as throughout the world.

Some people say "It's nature; what can you do?"
But it's not nature. We humans are the root cause of shoreline erosion. And we humans can reverse it.

On this website, we'll endeavor to show you how.
